How often should you service your bicycle?
When a bicycle is
being used regularly, it should be tuned up once a year minimum. Of course
everyone rides their bike to varying degrees and in different conditions,
therefore it is a good idea to have it inspected by our professional
technicians.
What should you do to maintain your
bicycle?
There are a few things
you can do yourself between tune-ups, the most important is to keep your bike
clean and the drive train parts lubricated. Every so often depending on
use, apply a light weight lube (We have a few different products in stock to
choose from) to the chain, freewheel and derailleur pivots. Always check
the tire pressure. A floor pump with a pressure gauge is a handy tool to
have since inner tubes bleed air over time. Riding with the proper tire
pressure will decrease rolling resistance making it easier to pedal and reduces
the chance of getting a flat tire. The recommended pressure will be
printed on the side of the tire. Following these tips should make it less
likely that your bike would need a repair.
Does your bike need a repair?
Do you have a bike
with a flat tire? Gears hesitate? Brakes don't work? Wheels aren't
straight? Tires are worn-out? The bike makes irritating
noises? Bring the bike in to us and our mechanics will look after it. You
will be surprised at how reasonable our rates are and how quickly you can have
your bike back. Our mechanics have experience with just about every kind
of problem and can work on every type of bike.
